Fountain Valley, California, resident Michael Meskal owns the environmental consulting firm Ecotek. Michael Meskal works closely with a diverse range of industrial clients and agencies.
Mr. Meskal has been with Ecotek since 1999, where he has cultivated long-term relationships with regulatory agencies that serve as liasons between local, state, and federal regulators and the community. His work involves team development and creating diverse training opportunities for junior-level staff, including trainings that cover emissions quantifications, stormwater, pollution prevention, and safety. This leadership role also requires Mr. Meskal to work extensively with public relations outreach programs and coordinate response strategies to incidents.
Over the course of his time with the company, Mr. Meskal has worked with the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD) to privatize portions of the consolidated and toxic Annual Emissions Reporting Program. He has also participated in creating the SCAQMD Emission Reporting Forms. In addition, he has overseen emissions software developed by Ecotek.
In addition to his work with Ecotek, Mr. Meskal has been a science teacher with Lynwood Unified School District since 2014, where he was ranked favorite teacher three years consecutively. His experience and training in environmental science and teaching include a bachelor's degree in cellular and molecular biology from California State University in Northridge and a master’s degree in educational administration from Concordia University in Irvine.
